About Us

Making Technology the Great Equalizer

The Idaho Assistive Technology Project (IATP) is a federally funded grant project located at the Idaho Center on Disabilities and Human Development. It operates independently under the University of Idaho’s College of Education, Health and Human Sciences.

The project was founded in 1992 and funded through the Assistive Technology Act of 1998, as amended.

Our goal is to provide support for older Idahoans and those with disabilities across the state in their personal selection of the assistive technology (AT) as they live, work, and play in their communities. This is achieved through a range of services informed by lived experience and delivered with expertise. This includes:

  • information and assistance
  • lending libraries and distribution and exchange programs
  • consultations and device demonstrations
  • training and technical assistance
  • financial loans and referrals

Our Collaborations

Need some help?

If you have any questions or you would like help finding AT resources to suit your needs, we're here to assist!

For most of us, technology makes things easier. For a person with a disability, it makes things possible.
