Preservice Training:

The IATP offers an array of preservice training opportunities. Institutions of higher education may request short presentations to their classes or a more in-depth session that encompasses several visits to the classroom. These preservice presentations can include an introduction to assistive technology, low tech and high tech solutions, alternative augmentative communication (AAC), school based or in-home assessment protocol, or a combination of technologies. The IATP can also provide an awareness training on Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, Electronic and Information Technology accommodations, computer access issues and the basic premise of how to consider assistive technology as mandated by the laws that guide special education practices.
